SOME
THOUGHTS ABOUT “METAPHYSICS”
There are
many brands of metaphysics, many concepts, many practices—some of
them very strange, “outa sight!” as the kids say. But
metaphysics is a science, the fundamentals of which are
precise and capable of comprehension. Within the bounds of these
fundamentals there is no difference in any of the “brands” that
have grown around them—but the organized brands have a way of
getting away from the fundamentals, eventually to ignore, distort or
even attack them.
On the
human scene and within the judgemental framework of conditioned mortal
thinking, the world does not have a single organization, Christian,
Jewish, metaphysical, mystical or ‘heathen” THAT PRESENTS A
CONSISTENT METAPHYSICS. There is a woeful wonder even as to
what the fundamentals are. In fact, there isn’t even a consistent
definition of the term “metaphysics,” let alone any kind
of agreement on its precepts.
Human
existence, the appearance of life in matter, offers many paradoxes
that have never been resolved intellectually—never—despite the
attempts of scientists, theologians, philosophers, mystics and
metaphysicians throughout history. It has been said they will never
be explained. Now, from the highest voices at some of these
organizations comes the word that the “belief and dream” needs no
explanation. But, if this were the real “answer” it would have
received the appearing such that its problems and their accompanying
agonies would at least be understood.
The
“dream” has been called the product of “dualism” but that
explanation has done nothing for the world but bring its dualisms
into increasing attention on the one hand and confrontation on the
other. The dichotomies of paradox grow, the pace of the “dream”
quickens and the handwriting of apparent cataclysm is not only on the
wall but on the floor and ceiling as well. A graffiti of fatalism
announces the demise of flat-earth foundations and the earth already
trembles.
Religion
has been dishonest from the first, promising things it cannot
deliver. How can one be “bound back” to an Identification that
has never been divided nor fallen away from Itself? What exists
outside Allness to be returned to the fold and “saved” thereby?
But
metaphysicians supposedly know this already and are studying the
”higher religions” because of the failures of theology in their
personal affairs, but their branded version of crystallized,
conditioned metaphysics doesn’t appear to be doing them much good
either. The time has come to show that metaphysics is not an end in
itself and that the precepts presented in its name are often as
off-base, preposterous and misleading as those of “old theology.”
Only worse—because it panders to the most basic instinct of all:
to be a healthy, wealthy, wise and happy HUMAN.
Please
understand. This is no attempt to knock either theology or
metaphysics. There is a place for churchdom in the appearing of
human affairs. There is also a place for the higher religion that
calls attention to the scientific precision of all tangibility. But
since these essays are directed to those interested in the
comprehension of the “Absolute,” the Real, the Unqualified,
unbound Truth, it is time to unearth some of the dishonesty
that has grown to be called “Science”, but isn’t Science at
all—but a lot of mystic mumbo-jumbo professing to be a gateway to
Utopia, a pathway from sense to Soul and the “scientific answer”
to everything. To begin with sense to ARRIVE at Soul is to walk an
infinite pathway forever, never arriving, never recognizing the goal
to be closer than fingers and toes, the Already Self, Itself.
The grand
door opener of “old theology” is its offer of salvation to the
sinner, the promise of heaven after a physical death for those who do
thus and so. The metaphysician looks down his nose at this
“primitive” concept and prides himself in bits and pieces of
esoteric “Truth” not understood by those poor folk who “worship
the blood of Jesus,” “Heaven is right here, right now,” shouts
he, as he goes about his professed heaven slashing the “Jesus cult”
to bits with a nasty tongue, healing this part of his heaven,
overcoming that part of it, protecting still another part, and
dividing it all into a good and bad, a real and unreal, a true
teacher and a false prophet, a Christ and an anti-Christ.
What is
the “door opener” of metaphysics? That is, what does IT promise?
We listen to the lesson sermons and ministers, read the publications
(That are authorized), examine the journals, monthly letters and
listen to the tapes only to hear the same …(missing words….)
theology is making, and has been making for five thousand years
without a modicum of success in getting their followers to LIVE,
LIVE, LIVE their professions. Misunderstood metaphysics proffers a
great goose, offering a golden egg of HEALING for all HUMAN problems.
It promises heath and wealth. It offers a solution to every worldly
inequity—marriage, business, scholastic, health, wealth, happiness
or whatever is supposed to constitute a prosperous, pampered personal
experience.
As a
metaphysician, I can say there certainly appear to be many sitting on
the front rows of the churches complaining of being unable to find
their healing or the promised land or the golden egg that the
DECLARATION of “God is ALL!” is supposed to deliver.
Really
now, in the absolute sense, is there any more honesty in holding out
the promise of a healing than the promise of “salvation”? Or of
an “abundant experience” in place of “the Holy Spirit”?
Metaphysicians may appear a happier lot on the surface, but under the
veneer of a pretended “absoluteness” of many, lies an arrogant
and aggrandized personal sense of self, riddled with doubts, bent to
the ground by weight of an awful guilt, bound hand and foot in fear
of violating this or that principle, rule or regulation of the
“textbook” or the “manual”—and for all their “demonstrated”
freedom, they remain terrified at the thought of not getting the
daily lesson or reading anything that doesn’t have the imprimatur
of officialdom, or follow a procedure that was not precisely outlined
by Mary, Joel, Earnest, Jesus, St. Peter or Society, none of whom
even remotely have the Ultimate Authority of the divine Awareness
presently reading these words! AMEN.
The
Divine “Metaphysics” begins with the Principle, not the problem.
The honest view doesn’t throw the human scene out the window
calling it naught by a dream. It allows the Principle to disclose the
scene’s reasons for appearing, and those reasons are ever to
delineate the Principle.
The Real
metaphysics doesn’t promise a happy human existence but discloses
the impossibility of a human to have an existence—AND FULLY
EXPLAINS WHY THE APPEARANCE OF A “HUMAN” AND HIS BELIEF OF
A LIMITED EXISTENCE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
The
honest religion of Light leaves nothing dangling, sluffing nothing
off as imponderable paradoxes that “just can’t be explained.”
The honest Way doesn’t rattle about progressive footsteps but
explains; in simple terms, that WE ARE THERE—and that the
“progressive footsteps” are the appearance of our letting go the
lingering notions that we are NOT there!
The
honest philosophy doesn’t have us climbing through “states and
stages” of “spiritual unfoldment” but has us LIVING OUT FROM
THE PRESENT POINT OF PERFECTION, there, flinging off the
former cloaks of concepts that has us crawling, scratching and
grasping our way up the leg of some distant god, hoping to eventually
arrive at a holy navel of rebirth THEN rather than NOW.
The
honest “teacher” of the Truth LIVES the Light he is and speaks to
his view of himself (people) about their UPRIGHTNESS, not their
faults (that merely delineate their faultlessness), not their sins
(which bespeak their sinlessness), not their weaknesses—because the
honest metaphysician perceives that the REAL, and the apparent human
foibles that delineate It, are all one REAL, not a dualism at all.
And the
honest Awareness of Light lives as the Light he finds himself to be
discloses he SHOULD live, without compromise, and without fear of the
coldness that ensues when his former cloaks of ego are thrown into
the abyss of lessons learned, called memory.
The
honest philosophy doesn’t hedge about the appearance of “dualism”
but EXPLAINS the whys and hows of it, for every aspect of
it—ultimately to disclose that that appears divided is not a
dichotomous dualism at all, any more than the Symphony and its
delineating notes (harmonious or discordant) are anything but ONE
Symphony disclosing Itself to Itself.
The
honest metaphysics doesn’t hush nor hedge on the subject of sex and
gender, but EXPLAINS it, fully, completely, honestly, without mental
reservations or concessions to an anthropomorphic propriety nor how
before the inevitable crucifixion of sex deluded arguments that see
everything through the eyes of sex alone.
The
honest metaphysics doesn’t give vague, vacuous, vomiting
explanations of the appearance of birth and death, but DEMONSTRATES
the Life that death delineates—and LIVES the effervescent, unbound,
eternal CHILDLIKENESS that judgeless awareness eternally is.
The
honest metaphysics doesn’t incessantly discount the validity of
“pain and anguish” but points out the reasons for the appearance
of them and validates the proof that mortal suffering is not the
dualistic opposite of Tranquillity but is the POWERLESS delineation
of it—Tranquillity the eternal Fact, the delineation, Omniscience’s
knowledge of all Tranquillity is not and could never be.
And
finally, the honest “teacher” of metaphysics does not leave nor
forsake one while his dreamlike night of the fiery furnace is lived
as the fiction it is and wherein the philosophic postulates of a Here
and Now Perfection are discovered BEYOND intellectuality, beyond
surmise, faith or intellectual doubt.
The time
for our intellectual honesty to give way to a lived honesty
has arrived—an arrival to shake the earth, reverse the magnetic
polarity of its thinking, loosing and letting fly the tectonic plates
of magnetic materiality, even while our former shields of protection
vanish, allowing the naked Child we are to be bathed in a rain
(reign) of Light unbelievably bright.
These are
not just “psychic” events I speak of, but mental, physical and
spiritual as well—all the same Event, disclosing Itself tangibly as
Identity: Identity known omnisciently even as Omniscience knows
Itself.
